2020 Celebration of Lights - Covid Style!
Date: December 6, 2020
Time: Starts at 5pm – but Muster is at 4:00pm
This year instead of the typical parade and carol sing, with food and fun we will be limiting it to just a parade – though a fabulously lit up parade! Parade participants will be limited to 50 vehicles.
On the back is our proposed route. Our goal is to travel through as much of our community, while staying off major routes & not having to use police to stop traffic.
We want to bring in the season with some light & fun in an otherwise dark year. Winter will be tough and the Holidays may be a lot quieter for many this year, so we want to support our neighbours and show that we live in a fabulously supportive community. As a participant, we want you to show your community pride and still get a bit of publicity. Make sure your vehicle clearly shows who you are – you know how much Esquimalt will support those that support them!
Due to COVID, there are strict guidelines that will need to be followed. No one will be allowed to walk in the parade – all persons must be inside a vehicle. We want participants to light up their vehicles as much as they can – there is no such thing as too many lights. A bit of Holiday Music would not be amiss either!
As this year has been a challenging year for the world and our community, we are hoping that participants would be willing to help the committee support others by donating groceries and/or a new unwrapped toy. Your support would be greatly appreciated!
During the mustering of the parade it is very important that you stay within your bubbles and your vehicle. The application form in-cludes the COVID policies that we must follow including contact tracing information. Please visit Our application page for application form and COVID protocols. All applications need to be submitted by 4pm, Dec 3rd.
