Esquimalt Celebration of Lights
Esquimalt’s Celebration of Lights is a magical event for the whole family. Lights, Music, Food, Santa and it is FREE to the whole community.
Hope to see you all there for the start of the parade at 5 pm on December 8th, 2019 for the parade and at the Arena right after for a visit with Santa, a hot dog from the Lions and singing with your neighbours.
We love having a great parade – if you are interested in participating in the parade please fill out the application and for more information please contact visit our Parade Section.
There are many places to watch the parade as it runs along Esquimalt Road from Esquimalt Rd and Canteen Rd to the McDonald’s Entrance. Don’t forget to say hello to the Jolly Old Fellow himself at the end, as Santa loves to wave to the crowd.
After the parade, there will be Hot Dogs by donation to the Lions, Music by Maureen Washington, Local Schools and a special guest or two and of course, there will be Santa, who would love for you to stop by and say hello.
It takes a village to put on an event like this, so if you are interested in helping out on the day of the event, please visit our volunteer page.
Cars, Rods and Rides
Cars, Rods and Rides will be on the Saturday of Ribfest – which this year is September 7th, 2019 from 10 am to 3 pm.
It will be located in the Archie Browning Sports Centre back Parking Lot, at 1151 Esquimalt Road, Esquimalt, BC.
There will be all types of vehicles from some fabulous classics to new electric vehicles.
For those who would like to enter their vehicle into the show, no pre-registration is necessary, but upon arrival, there is a $5 registration fee and we request a donation to the Q’s TLC Fund to support Children in the region over the holidays – a cash donation or a new unwrapped toy is appreciated. Those the donate to the cause are entered for draw prizes. Cars can arrive starting at 8 am until 10:00 am.
100.3 The Q! and The Zone @ 91-3 regularly support a variety of community activities, however, kids are very important to us. Every kid deserves a little tender loving care that sometimes is missing due to various circumstances. The Q’s TLC Fund has distributed almost $300,000 to support children’s needs in our community.
Each year the public will vote on the Best in Show award and a plaque will be presented.
